- Dig deeply…be sure to research unfamiliar topics thoroughly
- Start with a big bang…devise and opening that will grab audience attention
- Spice up your speech…liven up your speech with anecdotes
- Speak with confidence…get the “butterflies” to fly in formation
- Rehearse out loud…rehearse ou loud to be sure presentation goes smoothly
- Make your notes “noteworthy”…write speech in short paragraphs, underline key words, as you practice, you will memorize those words and the body of the speech will come naturally
- Offer a rousing finish…the easiest and quickest way to prepare the ending is to restate the theme---your “carry-away” message
